Ümit Çağlar

Ümit Çağlar is a furniture and product designer whose work is defined by a strong focus on materials, craftsmanship and form. Raised in a family of carpenters, he developed a deep understanding of making and structural logic from an early age. This background continues to shape his practice, where traditional craft knowledge is integrated with contemporary production techniques in close dialogue with manufacturers and artisans. His design language is refined and material driven, characterised by organic forms and natural surfaces that emphasise tactile clarity. Çağlar approaches each project as an exploration of the relationship between object and space, aiming to create pieces that remain relevant over time through structural honesty and balanced proportion.
Through his collaboration with Serafini, this philosophy extends into marble design, where natural stone becomes a medium for sculptural expression and custom craftsmanship.
