Hervé Langlais is an architect and designer who trained at the Normandy School of Architecture in Rouen. He worked with the international architect Paul Andreu for more than fifteen years. They worked together on the Grand National Theater of China in Beijing, the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai, the Roissy airport and many other projects in France and abroad.

Artistic Life
From 2012 to 2020 he is the artistic director of the Negropontes gallery in Paris, for which he designs an exclusive collection of objects and furniture, unique pieces, in the tradition of French decorative arts.
Since 2020, independently of his collaboration with the Negropontes Gallery, he publishes his own pieces in limited series and made-to-measure, manufactured by French craftsmen, except for the marble pieces made in Italy. These latest creations, architectural and raw, are more radical. Noble materials used in the mass, pure and assertive geometries, care of the detail, guide his approach. References to the great sculptors and architects of the past century, constant sources of inspiration for him, are always present in his work, Brancusi of course but also Carlos Scarpa, Jose Luis Sert and Alvar Alto, to name but a few. Architecture is never far away, sculpture is always close, and Hervé Langlais' creations are at the crossroads of these paths.
These creations are present at the Galerie Scene Ouverte in Paris, STUDIOTWENTYSEVEN in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, Objects With Narratives in Geneva and Freeman Gallery in Sydney and are regularly exhibited in international fairs, PAD Paris, PAD London, The Salon Art+Design NY, Design Miami, Design Miami/Basel, Salon du meuble de Milan, Maison et Objet Paris, ....
He also designs collections published by CVL Luminaires, Design-heure, Drugeot Manufacture, Ecart international or LELABO design.
Finally, in parallel to his work as a designer, Hervé Langlais signs interior fittings for private clients, scenographies and interior decorations.
