The Deau vases by Hervé Langlais embody a harmonious dialogue between sculptural form and natural material. The wide, trumpet-like opening recalls the bloom of a flower graceful, open, alive inviting both light and gaze to flow into its depths. Its particular shape already makes it a decoration in its own right, but there's a special reason for Deau being a vase. Indeed, the large surface of Deau enhances the space for your plants, giving them a bigger aspect. About
To make the Deau Vase we select a single block of marble that is hewed by a single blade. Then it is milled and hollowed by a five-axis robot, thereby defining its shape. Then our craftsmen polish and finish the vase. Finally, the piece is carefully packed and shipped.
DESIGNER
Hervé Langlais
Hervé Langlais is an architect and designer who trained at the Normandy School of Architecture in Rouen.
Noble materials used in the mass, pure and assertive geometries, care of the detail, guide his approach. References to the great sculptors and architects of the past century, constant sources of inspiration for him. Architecture is never far away, sculpture is always close, and Hervé Langlais' creations are at the crossroads of these paths.
